  • Sugar – 5 cups
  • Water – 2 1/2 cups)
  • Almonds – a little more than 1/2 cup (100 grams)
  • Fennel – 1/2 cup ( 50 grams)
  •  Black pepper – 2 tsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1/2 cup (50 grams)
  • Melon seeds -1/2 cup (50 grams)
  • Small cardamom – 30 – 35 (peel and remove the seeds)
  •  Rose water – 2 tbsp (if you want)

Holi drink

Thandai recipe is a sharbat recipe. Which are served on many Indian celebrations etc. When guests come to Indian homes. So they are first given sharbat i.e. Thandai with love. Which removes their fatigue. That’s why we can call Thandai a starter or a fatigue-relieving sherbet. In festivals like Holi and Mahashivratri, thandai is drunk fiercely. Many people also drink cannabis mixed with thandai. On the auspicious festival of Mahashivratri, cannabis is considered to be the offering of Lord Bholenath in Thandai and everyone must take it as Prasad. Mix sugar and water in a vessel and after it comes to a boil, boil it for 5-6 minutes and let it cool down, the sugar solution is ready.

Clean fennel, black pepper, almonds, melon seeds, cardamom seeds, and poppy seeds, wash them, and soak them in water for different hours (can be soaked overnight also).

 Remove excess water from everything. Also, Peel the almonds and separate the skin.

 Grind all the things finely. Use sugar solution instead of water to grind these things.

Mix the finely ground mixture in the sugar solution and sieve it. Mix the solution in the remaining coarse mixture and grind it again till it becomes fine and sieve.

Thandai is ready, fill the thandai in an airtight bottle and keep it in the fridge. You can keep it in the fridge for more than 1 month.

Whenever you want to drink thandai, add ice and milk as needed, and drink cold cold thandai.
